Why not try putting together a show for your local public access channel?
Cheap to do, and you can script it out yourself.  You could also make
copies of the show for the rest of us, perhaps to show to interested
people.  You could even work it up to a weekly show.  Maybe then some
larger network would get an idea of what you are doing and want to
broadcast it more widely.  Good practice anyway and great demo material.  I
could see you doing themed shows with a bit of history, a cooking
demonstration, and perhaps ending each show with letting the crew try out
the prepared dish.
