Aside from the barrage of fat, it sounds pretty good...maybe I'll have to
try them...sans the fat, no way you could eat them hot, maybe wrap it in
second cap or figure something else out, a strip of lean bacon
maybe...*shrugs* decent Oysters I can get year round.
I ususally make the Turkey with cornbread sausage dressing(not stuffed in
the bird, just makes it too long to cook and sucks all the juices out of the
breast meat because by the time the stuffing is at 180F, the breast meat has
men with camels living in it but I put pan drippings from the turkey in it
as they cook), oyster cassarole (one of two varieties, one orientalish, one
english), mashed potatos, and of course spiced gravy. Various pickles from
various dead relative's recipies, and appetizers...usually I serve some form
of veggie that appeals to the crew, usually done by poll when they arrive,
and freshly steamed. Desert is usually brought, or if I can I make a pie of
somekind (gonna use the mincemeat recipe from Ras' Weekend of Wisdom recipes
since I like that one *grins*) and I occasionally throw out the medieval
recipe instead of a traditional one (frumenty...etc)
If I don't cook, I get whatever their whim dictates, if I eat at my Dad's I
get a wonderful country dinner with all the trimmings (and about 5 points of
cholesterol)
Now I'm hungry....
