Not quite. The word is the same- but there is more than one definition.
It is the province of punsters and wordplay, but playing a game does not
necessarily make you game, except if your name is Sir Gawain. (I did a
graduate conference paper last year on the multi-valent use of the word
'game' in SGGK- an on-going project- and the subject still makes me
twitch...)
