Saffron will always be more expensive than other spices, however we have
discussed places on this list to get in less expensively than in the
grocery stores. Also most recipes do not require that much. A little
can go along way. I would recommend looking through the following files
and buying some at one of the recommended places since you will likely
want some for future period cooking. There are substitutions if you are
using it only for color.
