Don't get those 'round hee-yah. Unfortunately, the most extensive
"weird food" section in town is at the Über-Wal-Mart. From their
shelves, I got a bottle of Balsamic vinegar from Modena, Italy (albeit
their lowest grade, most likely) but when I asked the blue-vest if
they had any common malt vinegar, I got The Look. You know The Look.

The same Look that cows have. The Look young McDonalds employees get
when you ask them something that isn't represented by a small picture
on the register. You can almost hear the wind whistling inside their
skulls. Heavy-lidded, mouth agape. "Where's the 'Any' key?" As if
I'd flipped the Lobotomy Switch.

"You know, malt vinegar. There's a bottle of it on every table at
Captain D's and Long John Silver's" (fast-food-fried-fish-franchises).
"I'll have to check." Sigh.

No, Adamantius, no champagne vinegar in this town. No champagne in
this town. We have to drive to the next county to get any "alkyhol".
