:-( I think that this is probably one of the most frustrating things when
studying 'period' cookery. We seem to have an abundance on eating habits of
peasant and lord from the time that cooking changed drastically in the 1500's
C.E. but before then we have only vague references to anything other than
noble feast day fare. :-(

Th result is events which rely on early modern for brakfast, an eclectic blend
of medieval and modern for lunch and medieval food for feasts. On the bright
side, given the huge span of time personas encompass at any given event,
everyone sometime gets to enjoy a little bit of their culinary history. :-)
