Almonds can be grown anywhere that peaches can be grown. Th4e problem is that
they bloom a month before regular peaches so some years frost gets them before
they set fruit.. Almonds are a form of peach with a very thin layer of fruit
around the pit.

Hazelnuts are mentioned quite often in The Baghdad Cookery Book and The
Anonymous Andalusian Cookbook. Expanding your cooking horizons will open up
many new recipes. :-)
