SC - OT-OOP Trex

Sorry, but I've never seen or heard of "Trex", and "Crisco" had me baffled
for a while too. I hafta admit being a reactionary Kiwi in my attitude
towards cooking and diary products. Like I told a previous flatmate who
stocked her fridge with everything skimmed, low-fat and diet - if it isn't
real, I don't cook with it. There quickly appeared the 'cooking butter and
milk' alongside the 'eating marge and milk'. <smile> And otherwise I use
clarified lard or cold-pressed oil.

Having said that, I am quite happy to change my mind if given enough
incentive - what are the pluses for this vegetable shortening stuff (apart
from the obvious anti-cholesterol benefits)? 

And when you say 'canned' are we talking tin-can or squish-can?

PS Margarine gives you premature wrinkles. (OK, maybe that's an urban
myth...)
