Hi! It's true I come from a benighted land full of grits-challenged
unfortunates, but we do have a well-developed sense of irony! Witness:

Tell you what...I'll send you both some long-cooking grits ;  )

Um, did I miss something? Why would anyone serve them any other way,
except perhaps with cheese as a snooty Sunday brunch dish (and, I
confess, a durn good one)? While it's true that we don't sit around
eating grits all the time, when we do, my own experience has been we
acknowledge our debt to South and treat and eat grits with the respect
they deserve. It's oatmeal that tends to get all the perverse additions,
but then, being made from rolled oats most of the time anyway, this
isn't real, edible porridge anyway, so all bets are pretty much off.

I doubt Lady Chairistiona would have a recipe for single-serving
envelopes of Instant Mealy Porridge ;  ), but bring 'em on, anyway!
