A Tribute to Gunthar, King of Ansteorra, and a Damn Good Cook

Our queen is noble, kind and fair, and of her minstrels sing,
But today I will not spread her fame, today I praise our King
A man who's made his name well known while fighting on the field, 
And when he takes a spoon in hand, all other cooks must yield.
His feasts are known through out the land, and never do they bring
Ignoble feast insurance if the meal is by our King.
>From meetings and courts, affairs of state, a moment he must steal
"Is it from Digby? Go fetch the spice!  I must go check the veal!"
At war he'll face great foe-men, he will make their helmets ring
On bridge and field, with horse and bow, they'll fall before our King
Off  he goes, to what great fray?  To what melee to be won? 
No battle today, no heathens to slay, but the brisket might be done
