As for the ice: obtain clean, pure water, place in clean suitable container,
and freeze.

As for the cornbread:
This is My Daddy's Cornbread recipe. Daddy could cook two things, cornbread
and spaghetti.

2 cups plain yellow cornmeal
1 cup plain flour
2 Tbs baking powder
1 Tbs baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup fresh buttermilk
3 eggs
1/3 cup bacon drippings or lard
water

Oil a 9" or 10" cast iron frying pan.
Place in 400 degree oven to heat while mixing cornbread.
Mix dry ingredients. In a separate bowl beat eggs into buttermilk. Stir into
cornmeal. Stirring constantly, quickly add fat and enough water to make a
thick batter.
Pour into hot frying pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until
golden on the top and brown on the sides.
