SC - Cookout at Egils

Meistari Gerekr, in celebration of his 25th year in the Society, will be 
hosting a period "cookout" at the Ravensgard encampment this Egils. 
"Period food, cooked by period methods" --  come and share our enthusiasm 
for period cooking.  

This is planned to be a "participation" thing -- cooks cooking, observers 
welcome, tasting expected; general feeding of the masses is not currently 
planned.   Ravensgard will be providing a variety of equipment including 
cauldrons of various sizes, footed pots, tripod, brazier, portable 
hearth, spit, norse frying pans, Dutch ovens, etc.  We may have a pit 
fire also.  We are currently entertaining daydreams about making a 
portable bread oven; preparation room including a heavy 8-foot table 
(suitable for kneading) will be available.  

Folk are encouraged to bring their favorite equipment, materials and 
tried or new recipes to play with.
