"Kryddpeppar" is the Swedish name for allspice (it means literally "spice
pepper" but I´ve never seen any allspice that could be described as small
black seeds - any allspice/kryddpeppar I´ve ever bought was brown and
largish (larger than peppercorns, anyway). This spice is rather popular in
Sweden and Finland and I know a Finn who uses it on practically anything,
much as others use pepper.
