At 12:59 PM 2/3/99 EST, Thorbjorn observed...

Here in Canada (Ottawa, Ontario to be exact) we have been experiencing the
same thing. Many, many very confused Robins never left either. I have seen
squirrels everyday scampering around, when they are usually sleeping for
most of the Winter, only venturing out on the warmest of days.

So we can't really look to the Robins for the first sign of spring like we
usually do. I suppose this may leave many, many very confused people
wondering what happened to their winter. Me, I am enjoying this rather mild
winter and am totally amused that the huge snow ploughs are out scooping up
all the water from yesterdays heavy rainfall and melted snow! Since I had
to buy a new car this Fall I couldn't afford to go south this year and you
know what, it hasn't really mattered.

Now if we could just avoid an Ice Storm this year, I'll be happy. But every
time it rains I get that slightly sinking feeling that I may wake up the
next day and find myself smack dab in the middle of it again.
