SC - Greetings on my Natal Day

One of the best things about writing a book about holidays was finding a
really cool Saint's day on my birthday.  I thought I would share the
entry from my book for today with you all.

FEB 12
Festival of Artemis - Ancient Greece - Goddess of the Moon.  (See March
31st).  

Parentalia - Ancient Rome - Held through Feb. 21st, this festival honored
ancestors.  The temples were closed, and offerings of bread, wine, salt,
and flowers were made at tombs.  

St. Julian the Hospitaller's Feast Day  (?) Patron Saint of Boatmen,
Circus Performers, Innkeepers, and Travelers. He built a hospice on the
banks of a raging river, and would ferry across poor pilgrims for free.
Because of his legendary hospitality to strangers, he is prayed to by
traveling entertainers.
