Last fall I had the chance to taste a wonderful potted beef.  The person =
told me it was from an 18th century recipe.  I was just looking in the =
"food storage" part of Stephen's Florigium, and found it mentioned, but =
did not see a period recipe.  Does anyone have one they could post?  I =
think that would be a great thing to have at a camping event.  Spread it =
on some fresh baked bread...yum...
