Ok, I feel the need to add my two cents in here. . . 

I eat grits and cream of wheat with just butter (having added the salt in
the water before adding the cereal to the pot). On the other hand, I need
butter and brown sugar (white isn't acceptable, sorry) to my oatmeal. See
what happens when your mother grows up in Milwaukee, with your maternal
grandmother a native of Pensacola ? !?
