As I pointed out, the recipe is a modernized redaction. It may be very
inaccurate. I hope some one on the list has a copy of Scappi's Opera (also
called, Cooking Secrets of Pope Pius V) and can provide us with a
translation of the original recipe. If not, perhaps one of us can find a
copy of the 1981 facsimile edition of the 1570 printing.
