Until we lived up north (Connecticut) I did not realize how wonderful apples
could taste.  In September they are at their peak.  That is certainly when a
wise cook would hope to use them.  Unfortunately, since moving back down south,
it is now hard to eat an apple. (How can you keep them down on the farm after
they've seen Paree?)
