That has been my experience as well.  I can't eat walnuts, but other nuts
are fine, as are seeds and legumes.  Most folks assume that if you can't
eat one nut, you can't eat any.  that is true for some people, but not all.

New Year''s Resulution idea:  Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list
of things to do each day.  That way,  at least you'll get one thing done.
