Gwen-Cat,
Try to find
Lexer, Matthias. _Mittelhochdeutsches Taschenwo"rterbuch_, S. Hirzel,
Wissenschaftliche Verlagsgeselschaft Stuttgart. 1992.
My son lives in Stuttgart and was able to find it and send it to me via
his father. If you have a favorite bookstroe, they may have some
international accounts. Alia Atlas recommended it, and used it in her
translation of _Guoter Spiese_. I have to use it with an English/German
dictionary but you would probably find it very useful. It does not list
either Limonien or Zitron, but it only gives the older form to the newer,
not a reverse.
Example: breit adj. ausgebreitet (arme); weit ausgedehnt, breit (mit gen.
des nasses); bildl. weit verbreitet, gross, beru"hmt. (The quotes
after a letter are meant to show an umlaut) So, your gues at 'thick'
seems correct. Would this be any help to you? Unfortunately, I don't
have a dictionary that has all the words I need for cooking terminology,
foodstuff, etc. Valoise sent me copies of some of her notes, but I
haven't worked with my translating , much, this fall.
Regards,
Allison
