fagot [2] or faggot (verb transitive)

First appeared circa 1598

 : to make a fagot of : bind together into a bundle <~ed sticks>

fag*ot [1] or fag*got (noun)

[Middle English fagot, from Middle French]

First appeared 14th Century

 : BUNDLE: as

   a : a bundle of sticks

b : a bundle of pieces of wrought iron to be shaped by rolling or hammering
at high temperature

That's all I could find remotely related even remotely to cooking.
