SC - Lupini Beans??

I was just at the grocery store tonight and in the Middle Eastern section
they had a bean called "lupini beans".  They were rather square shaped with
rounded corners and they were an off whitish-brownish color.  They were
maybe a half inch wide across or there abouts.

Can anyone give me any information about these beans?  Were they known in
period?
