I was robbed!  Only got 381 pp!


The shaker does make sense--the holed vessel, then, refers only to the
saffron.  That would put golden specks over the surface of the pudding
and would be quite pretty.  Thanks, Cindy!  Didn't realize that spice
shakers were quite so early--I picture the cook with his leather bags and
sensitive fingers!
