That seems to be exactly - although I think that UK based supermarkets
actually seem to sell true cinnamon, although at an exorbitant price : 
I was taking a short cut and buying from an ethnic shop to get it
cheaper & have ended up with a different product :  Any ideas on how to
use it now? I've got lots to use up and I'm a little  nervous of using
it as a direct substitute for cinnamon now!

I took a class at Pennsic with Master Basilius this year where the issue
of Ceylon versus Cassia Cinnamon came up.  His recommendation was to use
1/3 as much Cassia as the period recipe {Ceylon} calls for.
