If I may make a suggestion, for those of us who are dealing with metric
conversions.....

Many diets and European recipes measure quantities by weight, rather than
volume. If you were to go to your local WalMart, K Mart, or similar store
which sells kitchen supplies, you can usually find a kitchen scale for under
$20.00. The last time I saw one, it had measurements by both metric and
American standard. I'd like to suggest that one of these would be an
excellent addition to your kitchen. They certainly aren't as accurate as the
scientific scales I use in lab classes, but they're close enough for cooking
purposes.
