SC - OT - exposure of children

There's an excellent book on prostitution in the ancient world (maybe
Goddesses, Whores, Wives, and Slaves?) that does a good job of describing
the reasons and frequency for the exposure of babies (mainly female) and
how many of them were 'rescued' by brothels who raised them as
slave-prostitutes.

Exposure of female children is so common in china today that it is scewing
the male/female balance.
