For some more info on Norse drinking traditions and drinking vessels take

Hallakarva.
I consider Mistress Gunnora to be one of the foremost experts on Norse Viking
Culture in the SCA. I would trust her comments a lot more that the piece that
Margaret Rose quoted here.
