Also Cariadoc has never said that he has found no 'period' stew of meat and 
vegetables. His claim is that he has found no 'medieval' recipes for a dish 
that contains meat and vegetables which would resemble stew in the current 
middle ages. Cooking techniques post-1450 CE are completely different from 
those used prior to that and are in fact 'early modern' in both preparation 
and style. Recipes post-1450 CE bear little resemblance to their medieval 
precursors with rare exceptions.
