Agreed. Royal icing does indeed contain egg white. I'm not sure if sugar
paste normally does, but I could check next week, if this hasn't been
resolved by then (is such a thing possible?) Fondant doesn't contain
egg, though; it is made from glucose and sugar boiled together to some
specific temperature I don't know offhand (soft ball?), cooled and
kneaded, then usually cured/aged, all this to prevent it from
crystallizing. Sometimes a tiny bit of lemon juice or vinegar is added
to invert some of the sugar molecules if real glucose isn't available.
