I take it from this that you were gifted with the meat, and not the
with corpse?  Who were these friends anyway, that they not only know
you so well as to know you'd cook dog, but loved you so much they
brought it to you all pre-butchered?  I must admit, the thing that
bothered me pretty strongly about cooking very fresh road-kill dog is
the thought of the presumed owner of said Fido not being able to find
any trace and being left to wonder whatever happened to him; apparently
not a problem!

(And has anyone else seen the skit from the Red Green Show about road
kill cooking?)
