You grind the whole stick. No worse than ground ginger root, or rubbed
sage mulch, I mean leaves. Leaves. Yeah, that's it. Thass the ticket.

Or, to paraphrase The Firesign Theater (speaking of giving away one's
age) "But it's really _great_ sawdust, Mrs. Presky!"
