careful getting things black! usually by the time there's enough pigment to
get to black, it tastes awful! (think generic grocery store dark red cake
icing)
i did a 9lb. marzipan shield for knowne world A&S when it was in Steppes,
Ansteorra and i just painted black on the outside for the part where it was
needed. that way the "rind" of black could be removed before it was eaten.
personally i'd just leave it with a dark gingerbread color and hope people
were intelligent enough to catch on.
