The only period Indian cookbook I have actually gotten my hands on is a
small part of the _Ain I Akbari_, which is 16th c. Mughal. If you have
access to a good university library you might be able to find it. The
current Miscellany has a few recipes from it, I think, but they may not be
in the webbed version, which I think is still couple of editions behind.
I have found references to one or two other things that may be period
Indian cookbooks, but haven't actually found them.
