SC - RE: eggs OOP?

All this egg coloring reminds me of a family recipes, possibly Swedish.
Does anyone else have a recipe like this, from where? Are pickled eggs
period?

Pickled Beet Eggs

Hard boil eggs. In a large glass jar combine a can of beets with juice, a
can of water, a can of vinegar. Add peeled eggs. Store in refrigerator. 
Ready in about 5 days. Ideally, the egg whites will be completely red-pink
and the yellow still yellow. New eggs may be added for about 3 batches. A
non-metalic lid is best on the jar.
