as for the recipe, (recognizing that there are no quantities given.......)

I am more of the inclination that this would be a recipe for what we today
would call a vinegar based potato salad, rather than a "soup". Otherwise, I
have trouble understanding why a wine would be used. Am I translating
"Muskatblummen" correctly as "mustard", making the "german potato salad"
concept even more feasible?  (Sorry, my german is twenty years rusted.)
