While Mooneschadowe may not use reservations, reservations without
prepayment is fairly common, since it gives you a handle on how many are
coming to the feast.  For large events, the feast is often filled several
weeks before the event and getting on the feast list at the gate is on a
first come, first served basis.

Requested prepayment is very uncommon, although some of the people making
reservations will prepay to insure their reservations and be able to
expedite sign in.

A number of years ago, I successfully used prepayment to fund some large
feasts on a limited bankroll by asking for reservations and discounting
prepaid reservations by approximately 20%.  I believe I am one of the few
people to use prepaid reservations in Northern Ansteorra.
