Slavery, as in involuntary servitude, is outlawed, as per the Late
Unpleasantness. If you agree to the conditions, it's not slavery, but
employment. I seem to remember that it was cheaper to hire an Irishman to
perform dangerous tasks than to risk death or injury to the slaves.

I'm working 7 days a week right now and I'm in a job the FLSA views as
salaried. However, the salary isn't bad for Oklahoma, the benefits are
good, I'm about 3 years from a very good retirement, and no one worries
about me punching a time clock as long as the work gets done. Oh yeah, I've
got to take about 8 weeks of leave between now and the end of the year, and
I've scheduled some leave in the middle of this to keep me from burning out.
