I want to know that, too.  But, don't tell me that plastic, with bleach
poured over it after being washed in anti-bacterial soap, can't be
cleaned or sterilized.  I just don't believe that.

OK.  Read Rayne's post on the correct way to bleach the plastic boards. 
I do regularly, and wash them in the dish-washer.  I also use
anti-bacteriial soap, try never to put anything wooden in the dishwasher.
 Some of the wooden boards, bowls, etc., around my house are OLD!  I
wonder how long the "magic" powers will last?
