DISMAL FOGS MID-WINTER YULE FEAST
12 June 1999.

Katoomba Masonic Hall, Station St Katoomba (near the Edge cinema).

Hall opens 5:30pm, Feast begins 6:30pm, Hall closes 11:30pm.

Cost: $15 members, $18 non members, $7.50 children 5 to 16 years, all others
free.

The Dismal Fogs Mid-Winter Yule Feast celebrates a small part of Christmas
as it was in
Elizabethan England.  This was just one feast in twelve days of celebration
which occurred
between Christmas eve and Twelfth night.  A number of ceremonies will be
performed
throughout the night so please sit back, eat and enjoy the occasion.

The Menu (and events)

The following food and events are planned to amuse and entertain guests:
· The ceremony of the first foot.
· Lighting of the Yule candle.
· First Remove
	Frumenty
	Yule dolls
	Posset (nibbles of cheese etc)
	Yule boar’s head procession
· Dancing, games and horse play

· Second Remove
	A roast legge of mutton on the French fashion
	Roast garlic
	Fried Pudding
	Glazed carrots
	Fruite tarts
	Chicken in a White Broth
· Dancing

· Third remove
	Rabbit / Beef with herbs in the French Fashion
	Turnips Armed in Self Defence
	Divers Sallets Boyled
	Apple puffs
	A Cambridge Pudding
Close hall

The feast will be preceded by a fencing tourney in the adjacent park
beginning at 2:00pm.
