Pardon, but you are in error.  All true buffalo are of Old World origin.
Bison bison is New World and is commonly called a buffalo, but isn't.  A
related species, Bison bonasus, also called wisent or aurochs, is of Old
World origin.  Aurochs is also used as the common name of Bos primigenius,
which is now extinct. 

Beefalo are OOP.  The first recorded beefalo (then called cattalo) were
produced in the late 1800's from a breeding program instituted by Texas
rancher Charles Goodnight.  In addition, Bos taurus, the beef part of
beefalo originates in the Old World and was first imported to the New World
in 1493.
