Hi y'all!

There was a cute article in the _Oregonian_ today, in the Food Day
section- about the advent of fast foods in the 50's that changed how we
eat. Little timeline, and a couple of the more interesting points...

1953: Cheez Whiz is introduced as a short cut for homemakers making
Welsh rabbit. Generations of childern come up with far more imaginitive
uses.

1953: Eggo frozen waffles are introduced.

1957: Williams-Sonoma opens its first cookware store in San Francisco.
(Woo-Hoo!)

1958: Eighteen-year-old Frank Carney, seeing a story in the Saturday
Evening Post about the "pizza fad" among teenagers and college students,
borrows $600 from his mother and opens the first Pizza Hut in Wichita,
Kansas.
