and then gave us a very poignant summary of other times and geographical
locations where Venice was not the "commercial center of the known world",
nor was Bruges.  Perhaps I worded my previous point a bit too strongly and,
for that, I apologize.  My general reaction to the initial sweeping
statement, however, still stands, albeit my refutation was a little more
focused in one area than it should have been, which shows me I need to
expand my research and point of view as well.  Thank you for helping me be a
better ametuer scholar Lord Bear.
