The study of trade and commerce is a vast area and comparing some minor
dynasty that ruled for an insignificant length of time and who really had
little influence on anyone but their immediate neighbors to the civilization
centers of the world is a little absurd, IMO. During the 1000 years of the
period covered by the SCA the Middle East was a commanding influence on many
aspects of culture. Insisting that I present all of the written works and
scientific papers dealing with their influence in trade or any other area is
blatantly unfair and I will have no further part in this discussion other
than forwarding the references that are posted to me as noted below. This
list is an inappropriate forum for such a protracted debate, IMO.
I have presented more than ample written references to support my side of
either argument which you seem to think is independent of each other. Unless
I receive further references from the professors in Germany and the US that
sent me the last ones I shared (and apparently you have not had the time to
check out yet), I will no longer be posting on this subject. The evidence is
there. Read it.
