There seem to be a fair number, at least there are a number of messages
about snail recipes in this file in the FOOD section of my Florilegium:
exotic-meats-msg  (49K)  4/ 1/99    Period and SCA exotic meats. Swans,
ostrich, 
                                       eels, peacocks, crawfish, dormice, snails

And one of them apparently calls for in addition, a pound of earthworms.
