High Table Policy (was Re: SC - A Winter food)

Ras, 

I'm with you about presenting the Royals food befitting their stations.  One of the very few perks to wearing the Crown in our hobby is to be given different considerations at various functions theat one attends.  Giving them a car would be a bit much, but reparing special foods would seem within the spirit of our hobby.

My first thought and reommendation would be to discuss this issue among the people in one's local group to decisde how it will be handled locally.  This can become an issue, certainly, should someone take us to task, but the 'oops' defense should work out nicely if the decision is determined improper.  Our local Baron has insisted on being served the same as the rest of the people get.  I disagree and serve whatever I can to him and his dignitary guests.  He has yet to make a scene or argue too vigorously . . . possibly because I didn't silver leaf a standing rib roast for him 8-).

Serve the many roast pork and serve the  to the high table spit roasted suckling pig with an armored cock astride.  You meet the letter of the argument and meet the spirit of our hobby.  The royals almost always share anyway.

Should any real documentation be brought to light. . . please share with the rest so we all can avoid the condeming finger shaken toward our food.

to such a policy. I think Adamantius was correct in stating that it was a 
spinoff of the alcohol policy issue and most likely had no basis in reality.

Personally, I advocate serving High Table in the manner that visiting Royals 
should be served. I am preparing a special entrement for high table at 
Weekend of Wisdom and several additional special dishes. Since all of the 
materials for those dishes have been donated, I am not going to loose sleep 
over the whole thing.

My suggestion would be to continue doing things as they have been done, 
forget the subject was brought up and be prepared to say oops! If anyone 
points out any real regulations about the matter.
