Lady Huette;

    I think we are talking about six of one and half a dozen of
another--different places, different customs. I really don't know who
decided on what when my mother died last Sept.. I just know that for several
days new meals appeared pretty much on a regular schedule. I also think it
depends on how large a community you reside in. I live in a medium-large
city (120,000) and it was a combination of friends, neighbors, church,
organizations my Mom belonged to, etc., who were so kind. But no one thought
to leave us eating leftovers from the memorial service. For me personally,
it was hard enough to have the service, let alone to be kept being reminded
of it by food (or anything else).

    But, I think your customs are both charming and very thoughtful. I like
your church and the ladies therein.
