We are planning the following for our fall event.  We are trying to match 
the feast with the battle scenario georgraphy.  

Anybody have some ideas for sources?  We would like to have recipes we 
can just whip up and also have some sources for redacting?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Fall Event Announcement for the Dominion of Myrkfaelinn

Event Announcement for the Battle at Stamford Bridge in the year 1066.

It is the year 1066, King Harald Sigurdsson,fondly known as Harald the 
Ruthless, advanced on the town of York, assembling his army at Stamford 
Bridge. After sunset that same evening, King Harold Godwinsson of 
England arrived at York from the south with a huge army. On the 
following morning these two great armies will meet in deadly 
combat--come see which King survives the batle of York!
The Dominion of Myrkfaelinn announces the Battle at Stamford Bridge to be 
held on November 20th in the Risley Residential Hall on the Cornell 
University campus(no street address)in Ithaca, NY. The site will open at 
10 am. and close at 11:30 pm. The site is dry and open flames are permitted 
during dinner. There will be fencing and heavy weapons fighting for all. 
There will also be childrens activities. The autocrat is Lady Angeline di

Inc.-Dominion of Myrkfaelinn. Please send any dietary restrictions to the 
autocrat. 
Fees are as follows:
(All fees include lunch sideboard)
Onboard: 10.00 adults/5.00 child(5-12, under 5 free) 
Offboard: 5.00 adults/2.00 child(5-12, under 5 free) 
Outboard/Day-Trip: 4.00 adults/children free

Directions to site:(Please contact the autocrat if you have questions)

Route 13 from NE (from Cortland/Syracuse) 
Follow Route 13 South through the town of Dryden (note that it turns 
right at an intersection there). Look for Route 366 it's a left hand 
turn at a traffic light just after the NYSEG power building. Turn left 
onto route 366, follow 366 after stopping at a 3 way stop the next 
intersection will be another three way intersection with a blinking 
yellow light not a stop. Continue straight, crossing a bridge, onto 
Campus Road. Continue past the baseball field to a four way intersection 
and turn left, almost immediately at the three way intersection turn 
right onto East Avenue, at the four way stop go straight at the traffic 
light go straight, after crossing the bridge Risley Hall will be the 
first building on the left.

Route 79 (from Binghamton and PA) 
The highway becomes a street with houses on each side as it enters 
Ithaca. You will come to a stop sign where Mitchell Street merges from 
the right. Continue down 79 to a traffic light at the intersection of 79 
and Stewart Avenue. Take a right onto Stewart, and follow the 
directions below.(labeled From Stewart Avenue).

Route 13 from the SW ( from Elmira and points west) 
Route 13 enters Ithaca along "Junk food strip". continue on route 13, 13 
will turn into a one-way two lane road, look for Joe's Restaurant on the 
left. This is the corner of route 13 and Buffalo Street. Take a right 
onto Buffalo. Follow Buffalo street through many traffic lights and up a 
steep hill to a flashing yellow light. Take a left onto Stewart Avenue 
and follow the directions below(labeled From Stewart Avenue). 

Route 96(from Geneva, Rochester, I-90 exit 42) 
About 42 miles south of Geneva, you will be coming down a long hill into 
Ithaca. (The octopus is gone, but the traffic pattern is still 
confusing). Follow Route 96 south until you come to Route 13 (South Meadow 
Street) Take a left onto Route 13 (S. Meadow Street). Look for Joe's 
Restaurant on the left. This is the corner of route 13 and Buffalo 
Street. Take a right onto Buffalo. Follow Buffalo street through many 
traffic lights and up a steep hill to a flashing yellow light. Take a 
left onto Stewart Avenue and follow the directions below(labeled From 
Stewart Avenue). 

 From Stewart Avenue 
Continue on Stewart Avenue, crossing a bridge and then bearing left at an 
intersection with two right turns, until you reach a four way stop, turn 
right onto University Avenue proceed up the hill to the first traffic 
light. Turn left onto Thurston Avenue, immediately you will cross a 
bridge, Risley Hall will be the first building on the left.
