Allium canadense is a North American wild garlic used by the pre-Columbian
natives.

While there are statements that Columbus found plantains in the New World.
there is no evidence of plantains or bananas in any of the Pre-Columbian
cultures. The Spanish historian, Ovieda (sic?), states that Friar Tomas de
Berlanga brought banana shoots to Hispaniola in 1516.
