Well, here's what I'm feeding the Mongols, Russians, and Royalty oh my this
weekend:

Oladii (small raised pancakes, fried)
Shichi (sauercraut soup, vegatarian version)
Pirozkhi of 2 varieties: deep fried cabbage filled and baked egg and rice
filled
Pelmeni (Siberian meat dumplings, boiled in broth)
Roast Goose stuffed with mushrooms and kasha (pray for me, this I'm cooking
on a open fire...)
Two Krendel ( a fruit bread used in place of Birthday cake in Russia, my BD
is Saturday)
Mefivnyk (Ukrainian spiced honey cakes)
a slab of beef (for the serious carnivores)
three types of bread: Challah, Swiss Braided bread, Nisu (fine textured
white braided bread from Finland)

Drinks:
Vodkas, Vodkas, we got the vodkas!
tea (not period, but Russian. Am serving it Russian style, but sans Samovar.
Rental was too expensive here, but you might find somewhere near you
cheaper, as you will have a bit more time... There's an online place that
rents em for $25 bucks. Search on lycos, keyword Samovar. Is a
restaurant/rental supply place)
Cranberry water
Lemonade
Sparking Cider for me and our Baroness (neither can have alchohol due to
meds we are on)

Other drink options:
real and non alch wine
any cider, sparking or not
iced coffe
iced chocolate
hot chocolate
gogol-mogol (an eggnog like drink, garnished with ladyfingers. Reputed to be
the perfect cure for a sore throat)

Email your snail and I'll make a copy of the reciepies for ya and mail em to
you. There is no way that I can sit down this week and type in the
reciepies. Anyone who wants em, just drop an address on my mailbox. Feel
free to drop by the Embassy anytime. The smallest "big bad Mongol" is a
wonderful storyteller :)

Anya
